Travelling to Cyntwell
Cyntwell is located in the heart of Padstow’s historic Old Town. Guests can reach us by car or use a combination of rail, bus, coach, air and taxi services.
By Car
As you approach Padstow on the A389, continue past the first right-hand turning signposted for Padstow Town Centre. Follow the road for approximately 400 metres, then take the next sharp right at the T-junction, following signs for the Parish Church. This will bring you onto Church Street.
Continue down Church Street through Padstow’s historic Old Town, following the one-way system. The church will be on your right as you travel down the hill. At the bottom of Church Street, look for Cross House, a large green building on your left. Turn sharply left beside the building into Cross Street, which is a two-way street, and you will see Cyntwell.
By Public Transport
Bodmin Parkway is the nearest mainline railway station served by Great Western Railway. A Transport for Cornwall bus connects the station with Wadebridge and Padstow.
Cornwall Airport Newquay is the nearest airport to Padstow. Taxis and car hire are available, while selected bus services connect the airport with Padstow. Booking a taxi in advance is recommended.
National Express coaches serve Bodmin and Newquay, with onward travel to Padstow available by local bus or taxi. Padstow Bus Terminus is within walking distance of Cyntwell.
Arriving and Unloading
Guests can stop briefly near Cyntwell to unload their luggage before parking.
Rooms are available from 2.30 pm on the day of arrival. This is also the earliest time that luggage can be dropped off. The latest arrival time is 7.00 pm.
Parking in Padstow
Like many historic properties in Padstow’s Old Town, Cyntwell does not have private on-site parking. Free parking spaces may be available nearby on Cross Street, Fentonluna Lane and close to Prideaux Place, although availability cannot be guaranteed.
Padstow also has several public car parks, where 24-hour and weekly parking options may be available. We recommend checking the latest locations, charges and restrictions before travelling.
